The United States Patent and Trademark Office is sponsoring a two-day, free program on "China's Impact on Intellectual Property: Protecting Your Intellectual Property in China and the Global Marketplace ", to be held on Wednesday and Thursday, September 27-28, 2006 at the Omni Parker House hotel in Boston, Massachusetts.

Definition:
Is an international treaty that allows a trademark owner to seek registration in any of the countries that have joined the Madrid Protocol by filing a single application, called an international application.

Contributory Infringement

Definition:
Indirect infringement of intellectual property rights in which one person contributes to the direct act of infringement of another.

National Treatment

Definition:
A work originating in one of the member country must be given at least the same level of protection in each member country as that country gives to works created by its own citizens.
